Car Alarms

Car alarms are definitely items that could come in handy if somebody is attempting to break into your car, but the fact is that this is rare. In fact, it is so rare that many people would rather take their chances with thieves instead of having to mess with the alarm every time it accidentally is triggered.
One of the biggest reasons why some people hesitate to install car alarms in their cars is the fact that there are many things that could set them off that are not really a threat to your car.
For example, if there is a loud noise in a parking lot, there is a good chance that it will be loud enough to trigger many car alarms in the lot as well. The worst thing about this is that it can sound for quite some time until it turns off. Many car alarms are set to turn off by themselves after a few minutes, but there are others that have no such setting
These car alarms often will go off in the evening as well and depending on how sensitive the alarm is, something as simple as a cat jumping on the hood could set the alarm off. Suffice it to say that if you have neighbors, they are likely not very happy about alarms going off often in the middle of the night.
Despite these annoyances, car alarms are definitely not too much of an annoyance to deal with if you are afraid that there is a pretty good chance that your car will be messed with by thieves. If you live in an area with a high crime rate or if you drive a car that seems to be a make and model that is popular for thieves, then car alarms are probably good things for you to have.
